The traders of the Vlora Grand Market have gathered again today against the relocation from the place where they currently operate. They say that they are not against development, but their move to Jalia e Narta is a disaster, as there are no conditions and it is almost 3 km away, which brings about the final closure of their activity.
On its fifth day, the protest moved to the Petro Marko Theater in Vlora, where a forum was held and the prime minister was expected to attend. But Rama canceled his presence at the last minute, without giving a reason, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Elisa Spiropali, arrived instead.
The merchants took advantage of the moment to express their concerns. Spiropali stopped and turned to communicate directly with the merchants, telling them that he would talk to the mayor and members of the City Council about their problem.
"I will now speak with the mayor and the members of the Municipal Council. The municipality also has its own development plan," the minister told the citizens.
After this brief communication, Spiropali left to participate in the Dialogue Forum "A Few More Steps Towards the EU", while the merchants continued the protest, demanding concrete solutions and dialogue with local authorities.
