The rehabilitation of Ilir Alimehmet alongside Sali Berisha was the only news produced by the political round table called by Berisha himself. The former prime minister delivered a speech similar to the ones he repeats every day at press conferences, with the usual refrain against Balluk and Agas.
Names like Ermal Hasimja and Florian Binaj also appeared at the table, but the rest of the panorama was a pure throwback to the early 2000s: Fatmir Mediu, Arjan Starova, Nard Ndoka, not to mention Selami Jenisher and Kujtim Gjuzi. A familiar scene, without surprises and without new energy.
With no real alternative to unification and no new name beyond the figures who have been appearing for years as a political extension of the Democratic Party, today's round table did not bring any new elements. The content was limited to the usual demands for a technical government, which according to Berisha would guarantee free and fair elections, as well as non-interference in justice.
The latter appeared as a relatively new element in Sali Berisha's political vocabulary. However, he admitted that the supposed technical government would support justice, even though, according to him, the "new justice" has made many mistakes, the consequences of which, as he said, he and the opposition have borne on their shoulders.
Nothing new from the opposition front. Berisha's table: Repositioning old figures and no new ideas
Essentially, the political table resulted in a meeting without innovation, where the only new thing was the repositioning of old figures.
