The "Bashke" movement, the "Albania Becomes" party and "Mundësia" have rejected Sali Berisha's invitation to sit at the table he called for the coordination of opposition action. The Chairman of the Democratic Party stated today in a press conference that he does not want to prejudge these positions until the table actually starts working.
On Friday, Berisha invited the opposition parties to a meeting to discuss the joint opposition action, but everything indicates that the two parliamentary opposition parties, the one led by Agron Shehaj and the one led by Arlind Qori, will not participate. The same is expected to be the position of Adriatik Lapaj, who has been protesting in front of the Prime Minister's Office for weeks and every Monday symbolically leaves space for the Democratic Party and Berisha, but it seems that he has no intention of sitting at the table called by him.
Sali Berisha announced that, in addition to opposition parties, representatives of civil society have also been invited to this roundtable. However, it remains unclear whether former Democratic MP Ervin Salianji will be among the guests. Berisha himself has stated several times that Salianji has crossed several "red lines", which makes it difficult for him to return as an active part of the opposition movement.
Under these conditions, Berisha's table risks remaining with limited participation, where according to the signals so far, it is expected that mainly the traditional allies of the DP, Fatmir Mediu and Nard Ndoka, will join, while the rest of the opposition continues to keep its distance.
