The tragedy of Xhuana Nikolli has shocked public opinion, while gruesome details were revealed by her family members on the show "Në Shënjestër" by journalist Klodiana Lala on News24. The 25-year-old ended her life on March 10, 2026 in Tirana, after consuming photoxenia in the rented apartment where she had been living for months. According to family members, the fatal decision came after the continuous psychological and physical violence she had experienced from her ex-husband, Eraldo Fizi, who is still on the run.
In a touching story, her sister Marjana Kalaj revealed that Xhuana had known Eraldo for years. They had been together since school and their love story had culminated in marriage in 2025. But according to the family, after the marriage everything changed.
Marjana says that Eraldo became aggressive, controlling, and constantly put pressure on Xhuana. She says that her sister experienced psychological violence, insults, and excessive jealousy, while the problems were also aggravated by family conflicts and her ex-husband's nightlife.
To escape the situation, Xhuana had moved to Tirana in the hope of starting a new life and focusing on her profession as a lawyer and notary. Initially, she lived with her sister and then rented an apartment with a friend.
But according to family members, Eraldo never left her alone.
"He became very aggressive. He didn't stop following my sister. Last night he exercised barbaric violence against her," Marjana said.
According to her, on the tragic night, Xhuana and Eraldo had been together in the apartment to make amends, but the argument ended in physical violence. The marks on the 25-year-old's face and body, as well as the torn sweatshirt, according to the family and forensic experts, testify to a fight between them.
The most painful detail remains the letter that Juana left for her parents before the fatal act.
"Mom, Dad, I didn't beat you. I didn't do anything to deserve this. He beat me until I couldn't stand this kind of violence anymore. I love you so much, don't cry."
Family members say that through these words, Juana wanted to show her parents that she was not at fault and that she had silently endured the violence she was experiencing.
Her sister confesses that even after the breakup, Juana continued to love Eraldo and believed that he could change. But the hope of saving the relationship, according to her, turned into a nightmare that ended tragically.
The incident continues to be investigated by authorities, while family members demand justice for the 25-year-old, insisting that she was the victim of a long history of violence and psychological terror.
