An incident reported by the Daily Mail has revealed that an Albanian national convicted of murder, Afrim Sinani, has returned to the United Kingdom, despite being deported more than a decade ago.
According to the report, Sinan was seen moving along a busy shopping street and was traced to an address in a suburban residential area of London. His neighbours are believed to be unaware of his criminal past.
It turns out that in 1996 he killed a person in an act of revenge and was sentenced to 20 years in prison. Then, in 2000, he escaped and illegally entered the United Kingdom with his wife.
The Daily Mail writes that Sinani lived for years in Ilford with his family, before being tracked down and extradited to Albania in 2010. However, according to investigations, he has returned to Britain, where he currently lives with his family in social housing in northeast London. It is suspected that he keeps a low profile and leaves the apartment in the early hours of the morning to avoid attention.
According to the material, Sinan was released from prison in Albania in 2017 and it is not known exactly how or when he returned to Britain. In 2021, a construction company was registered in the names of his wife and son at the current address.
British authorities have stated that they remain committed to removing foreign nationals with criminal records as soon as possible, while political officials have called for his immediate re-deportation.
