SPAK signs a second subpoena for former Albanian national football player Igli Tare and requests that he appear to testify in the context of the investigations against former Deputy Prime Minister and former Minister of Infrastructure Belinda Balluku.
"His testimony is considered important for the investigation, mainly in terms of Ms. Balluku's assets," said a source close to SPAK.
Igli Tare's call came immediately after several checks were carried out on Ballukur's family members and various businessmen, while investigators also landed at two villas in a residential area in Drimadhes.
Earlier, SPAK signed the first summons for the former footballer, but returned it later, because he lives abroad and was not notified. In the second summons, investigators confirm that measures have been taken for Tare to receive notification.
Belinda Balluku is suspected by SPAK of abuses with road tenders, from the tender for the construction of the Llogara tunnel to the lots of the Great Ring Road.
In recent weeks, investigations into his assets have intensified. Currently, two security measures are in force against Balluk; a ban on leaving the country and a suspension from exercising his functions, against which he has appealed to the Supreme Court.
