Gëzim Prendi, the father of Aleksandër Prendi, who was targeted for murder by the Bajri criminal group, an event that occurred in August 2024 in the village of Rranxa, has explained to investigators how he learned of the incident that his family members had been shot. "Yesterday around 7 pm, a neighbor called me and asked me where I was. I told him I was in the hospital in Shkodra. He asked me, who is the guy in Rranxë? I told him I don't know anything. He asked me: do you know anything about my children. I told him I don't know anything. I took my son Aleksandr and his phone was turned off. Then I took Arsen (Arsen Ceni) and told him to go to my house and tell me what happened. I took my daughter later and asked him: what happened? Dad, he said I don't know anything, but there was a mess. My children are with some people I don't know. I contacted the SPZ of the area and told them that I want to come and declare what I know to the police. I went to the Vau i Dejës police station, they told me to come to the police department," said Aleksandër Prendi's father.
SPAK concluded its investigations today and filed official charges against Izmir Sakicaj, Samuel Troshani and Franko Leka for creating conditions to commit murder and criminal group. According to the investigations, members of the Bajri criminal group, who according to SPAK are often seen in the company of Safet Bajri, traveled in 3 armored vehicles from Dobraçi, which is an area controlled by the group, towards Rranxë with the intention of killing Aleksandër Prend, due to a clash over drug deals. The latter, as soon as he saw them, shot from the vehicle in their direction. Fortunately, there were no casualties from the clash with weapons, but only damage to the armored vehicles.
Prendi has also been named as a defendant.
