The floods of recent days that have affected several regions seem to have also taken their place on the agenda of political parties.
Prime Minister Edi Rama has announced that he will convene the Civil Emergencies Committee tomorrow. It is learned that the meeting, which will take place at 08:30, will discuss measures to cope with the flooding situation.
On the other hand, the chairman of the DP Parliamentary Group, Gazment Bardhi, has addressed an official request to the government to declare a state of natural disaster for the regions of Durrës, Lezhë, Elbasan, Shkodër, Gjirokastër, Vlorë and Fier, as well as to make a full and objective assessment of the real value of the damages and full financial compensation for the damages to the affected residents.
Also, the DP parliamentary group has requested the Speaker of the Assembly to take measures so that the Council of Ministers informs the Assembly about the situation created, the risks that arise, and the measures taken to manage the situation.
Ministers, mayors and MPs from both parties have also appeared on the ground to assess the situation. Although they do not offer any solution to the disaster as measures should have been taken in time, it must be said that they have remembered to meet with citizens even on difficult days when votes are not at stake.
We remind you that for the past three days, several regions in the country have been facing an alarming situation. Meanwhile, evacuation orders have been issued today for residents in Novoselë, Vlorë and Fier, as well as in Sukth and Katund të Ri in Durrës.
