The Basic Prosecution of Gjilan has provided new details related to the past of Mefail Shkodra and his two sons, who are accused of being the perpetrators of the massacre that left 3 people dead and one injured. The prosecution states that a total of 5 criminal reports have been received for Mefail Shkodra since 2000.
"Based on reports regarding the criminal past of the suspect Mefail Shkodra, we inform the public that since 2000, a total of 5 criminal cases have been received by the Kosovo Police in the Basic Prosecution Office of Gjilan, in 4 cases indictments have been filed under cases PP.II.300/2005, PP.II.394/2011, PP.II.1091/2014, PP.I.154/17 and in case PP.II.913/2023 it was resolved in a mediation procedure," the prosecution announces, according to media in Kosovo.
Regarding his two sons, Edonis Shkodra and Engjëll Shkodra, the prosecution says that they have not been previously investigated for any criminal activity.
Mefail Shkodra is accused of executing 3 people, while a 4th was seriously injured. The victims were Abedin Hoxha, Selami Hasani and Edmond Hasani, father and son, well-known goldsmiths in Gjilan, and Bujar Hoxha. The massacre is suspected to have been motivated by conflicts related to usury.
