A serious incident recently occurred in Korça, where a 26-year-old player of the Skënderbeu football team was physically assaulted by several people for weak motives. The incident occurred in neighborhood no. 16 of the city, and after being notified of the conflict, the Police forces immediately intervened to clarify the circumstances and identify the perpetrators.
In connection with this incident, two people were arrested in flagrante delicto: VF and Th. V., both 24 years old, residents of the village of Polena. Meanwhile, three others have been criminally prosecuted as accomplices in the violence: Th. V. (32 years old, Polena), A. Xh. (23 years old, Bulgarec) and JO (24 years old, Rëmbec).
Also, Dh. M., 25 years old, resident of Rëmbec, who was present during the event, but did not notify the authorities, was criminally prosecuted for failing to report the crime.
The injured footballer is currently under medical care and is out of danger.
Investigations to fully elucidate the incident continue.
