Journalist Klodiana Lala revealed today that Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku has been summoned to appear before SPAK on Monday, October 27.
Invited to a television studio, Lala announced that the summons arrived at Balluk's office on Tuesday and that she was taken as a person under investigation, not as a defendant.
"A summons was sent to Ms. Balluku and addressed to the Ministry of Interior on Tuesday and has arrived at her office. These summonses are sent by special couriers, who also receive a signature upon receipt."
"In this document, special prosecutors inform him that he must appear before SPAK on October 27, in the presence of a lawyer, informing him that he is officially under investigation for the criminal offense of violating equality in tenders," the journalist said.
Lala added that if Balluku appears, it is likely that she will be notified of formal criminal charges, but stressed that she currently does not have the status of a defendant.
"Ms. Balluku is a person under investigation and is the second deputy prime minister to face SPAK after Arben Ahmetaj, who is on the run for several serious charges, including corruption," concluded Lala.
