Flori Paluçi, the 33-year-old who was shot dead three days ago in Manëz, Durrës, after a fight over a coffee, turns out to have been known to Italian authorities. According to media in Italy, he was under investigation by the Perugia Prosecutor's Office for a double murder attempt that occurred on June 19 of this year in front of a bar in Perugia. Investigations there revealed that the incident was related to a drug deal, and since that day Paluçi had disappeared from Italy, leaving no trace, even though he had been declared wanted.
According to Italian reports, the 33-year-old had left the Umbria region and returned to Albania, where he later died in another collision, again in front of a bar. Albanian police say the incident in Manëz occurred for weak motives: an argument over how to prepare espresso between waiter Alteo Pepa and 21-year-old Daniel Pepa. Flori Paluçi and his friend, Erald Cani, were also involved in the conflict.
After the argument, Daniel Pepa left the bar and later returned with Aranit Kurti and Ergi Kadiu. When they tried to enter, Paluçi fired a gun on the ground, but Pepa responded with direct fire, seriously wounding him. During the physical altercation that followed, Paluçi reacted with a gun, killing Aranit Kurti, while he himself was killed moments later by Daniel Pepa's bullets. Security camera footage shows that the 21-year-old left the scene with 30-year-old Gezim Allçi, both armed, who are still being sought by the police.
