The Court of Appeal is expected to review on Monday Gjon Shkambi's request for the removal of the security measure imposed on him by the first instance court.
Shkambi is accused of being an accomplice of his nephew, Elvis Shkambi, who killed judge Astrit Kalaja. The hearing is expected to start at 10:00, with judge rapporteur Genti Shala.
Meanwhile, Elvis Shkambi, the suspected perpetrator of the murder, has not appealed the decision of the Court of First Instance, accepting the measure of "indefinite imprisonment".
At the same session, the Appeal will also review the appeal of Banush Goxhaj, a security officer at the Court of Appeals, accused of abuse of office.
The judge's murder occurred on October 6, when Elvis Shkambi fired three bullets in the courtroom, immediately after the verdict was handed down against the Shkambi family in a property dispute. During the incident, the 31-year-old also injured two other people involved in the property dispute.
