"10 years of defiance against deportation": Champagne party of

An Albanian criminal has thrown a lavish champagne-filled party to mark a decade in the UK, despite orders to leave the country.

Dorian Puka, 29, who has served two prison sentences for burglary and was deported twice before returning illegally, celebrated this "achievement" with an expensive evening at a London nightclub, complete with burlesque performers and expensive champagne.

Video footage shows the convicted thief partying with a dwarf, singing karaoke and smoking shisha during the festivities on Wednesday night. Puka had secured VIP access to Cirque le Soir, a popular bar frequented by Hollywood stars, and later posted videos of the party on social media site Instagram.

Over the past 12 months, Puka has openly mocked immigration authorities on social media by showing off his luxurious lifestyle: with several Rolex watches and super-luxury cars, including a Ferrari and a 2022 Lamborghini URUS V8, worth around £180,000.

His criminal history in Britain began on February 17, 2015, when police arrested him for robbing a flat in the Twickenham area of southwest London while the owner was on holiday in France. The victim saw the robbery on a webcam and alerted the authorities. Puka served nine months in prison and agreed to be deported upon his release, but within a year he managed to return, avoiding border controls and embarking on another series of burglaries in the London suburbs.

Plainclothes police arrested him again in Surbiton after residents complained about an increase in robberies. At the time of his arrest, he was carrying an expensive watch stolen during a robbery.

Albanian authorities took him into custody in March 2020, after he completed a three-and-a-half-year prison sentence. While in prison, Puka became known for securing a smuggled phone with which he posted selfies from his cell on Instagram. In one of the photos, he appeared next to a crime boss sentenced to 12 years in prison for cocaine trafficking and money laundering.

After several months in Albania, he reportedly passed through Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands, before re-entering Britain in December 2020, avoiding border controls, according to posts on social media.

Threatened by another deportation, Puka applied for asylum and has been living under immigration bail conditions since 2023, with an electronic monitoring device, while the tribunal reviews his case.

British authorities have said they cannot currently deport him until his asylum application is complete. A Home Office spokesman said the government aims to reform human rights laws and the appeals system to increase the number of deportations and make Britain a less attractive destination for illegal immigration.

According to the statement, the Home Secretary has announced wide-ranging reforms to combat illegal migration and make it easier to remove lawbreakers from British territory.
