"Eva, today she came to her family! Endless gratitude to everyone who believed in Eva and to everyone who helped Eva be with her family today!" This is what Xhetan Ndregjoni wrote on his social network FB, as he announced that his granddaughter Eva Dumani has been repatriated from the infamous Al Hol camp in Syria.
Eva Dumani, along with her brother Endrin, were taken by their father to Syria, where he joined ISIS fighters. He had deceived his wife by obtaining a power of attorney to travel to Montenegro for a vacation.
The children's father, Shkëlzen Dumani, lost his life during the fighting, while the children's grandmother, who traveled to Syria to bring her grandchildren home, also passed away later.
Endri Dumani was repatriated thanks to an operation several years ago, while Eva remained in Al Hol. At the insistence of her uncle, Xhetan Ndregjoni, Eva has touched Albanian soil after 12 years.
