The blockage of the Librazhd-Prrenjas road after a massive landslide has created not only the isolation of the area, but also a new problem for residents: the increase in transportation prices.
If previously the trip to Tirana cost 700 new lek per ticket, now citizens pay 1000 new lek. Residents express outrage at this situation, saying that the diversion of roads is making travel expensive and tiring.
"They say it will be 10 thousand lek. Before it was 7. Take us, take that dog over there that sees the bridge with a helicopter. There, some hata will fall on Shkumbin. For two people we have to pay 20. Prices are increasing, roads are not being built. They only steal. The nation has never been stolen as much as this government has stolen. We build this road often," said an outraged citizen.
Many of them express concern that these prices could remain high for a long time, making life difficult, especially for pensioners. "We have no way to make ends meet with a 70 thousand pension," said another resident.
The vans connecting the Southeast with the capital have been forced to change their route, passing through the Maliq–Lozhan–Moglice–Gramsh segment, which is narrower, more winding, and damaged. This has significantly increased the travel time and operating costs.
