The Head of the Supreme State Audit Office, Arben Shehu, is reporting today to the Albanian Parliament for 2024, presenting the findings of audits on the use of public funds in state institutions.
According to Shehu, during the year, audits were conducted in 205 entities, of which 97 were central units and 75 were local units. The audits identified violations in public procurement and contract implementation, with irregularities most frequent in local-level procedures.
He emphasized that restrictions on competition, delays in the implementation of contracts and the making of additional payments have been identified, highlighting important problems in the management of public funds.
"Several audits have been conducted. These audits were conducted in 205 entities, of which 97 central units and 75 local units.
