One of the most controversial draft laws, on gender equality, is expected to get the green light in the Albanian Parliament. The session starts at 10:00 and at the center of the agenda of this session is the draft law on gender equality, which is expected to spark debate again, as the Socialist Party has proposed 22 amendments that limit the concept of gender only to "man" and "woman", removing the terms "inclusive" and "gender diversity".
But as this bill is approved in Parliament, family protection associations will protest against it.
Also scheduled for the session are the annual reports of several institutions, the draft law on gender equality, and the vote for members of the Regulatory Commission at the CEC.
The election of CEC members failed in the last session, after the opposition left the hall, following the rejection of the request to establish investigative commissions on the "McGonigal" case and the May 11 elections.
Also on the agenda are normative acts on changes to the 2025 budget and on "Territorial Planning and Development." Several institutions will also provide reports, including the Supreme State Audit Office, the Department of Public Administration, the Public Procurement Commission, and the Authority for Information on Former State Security Documents.
