Altin Dumani completely dismissed the accusations of Sali Berisha, who stated that the head of the Special Prosecution Office intimidated prosecutor Dritan Prençi into not continuing the investigations against Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku, who is accused of violating equality in tenders, specifically in the Llogara tunnel.
In an interview on RTSH 1, Dumani emphasized that special prosecutors are "Gods" of their case, and as a result their work cannot be dictated, diverted or manipulated.
"I do not comment on political statements, but what I emphasize is this: special prosecutors are independent, they are the masters of the case. As head of SPAK, I have always offered the prosecutor in the case, for concrete reasons, my support, my solidarity, whenever my help was needed. In this specific case, nothing is true, it is not true. Prosecutor Prenci has my support for this issue and others," said Dumani.
Dumani described the public announcement that SPAK made to clarify the reason for Balluk's visit to the prosecutor's office as being in accordance with all laws, regarding the procedural aspect.
"Regarding informing the public about the issues that are under investigation, we are always careful, as the main goal is to preserve the integrity of the investigation, not to damage it. On the other hand, we also take into account the rights of the accused subject in the process. The notification was made on the day the subject appeared at the Special Prosecution Office, the subject in question. It was a procedurally correct notification and sufficient for the public," said Balluku.
