The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, at today's media conference, commented on the investigations into the Llogara tunnel, accusing Prime Minister Edi Rama of involvement in a corrupt affair with this project.
"Rama was ready to steal, so he came up with this scheme," Berisha declared, adding that the prime minister and minister Belinda Balluku have collaborated closely on this affair.
According to him, the responsibility for this project falls on Rama, while Balluku is simply an executor of his orders.
"The number one responsible person is Edi Rama. In that affair decided in Ankara, Luli Balluku could never decide. Lubia is his tool, his instrument, but we would be deceiving the Albanians if we recognized Lubia and not Edi Rama as the first responsible person," Berisha said.
Unlike other times, the opposition leader avoided criticism of SPAK and for a rare time praised the work of prosecutors in investigating this case.
"The prosecutor, in my opinion, has done his job. But this one threatens them, makes them disappear, says you have something personal with me. But the prosecutor exposed them naked, black as they are, on the political plane," he said.
At the end of his speech, Berisha also gave a message to DP supporters, inviting them to prepare for protests, although he emphasized that a date for them has not yet been set.
