There is no peace for the Vlora cadastre. After only five months at the head of the institution, Genc Deromemaj has resigned. The official reasons have not yet been made public, but sources indicate that he will no longer continue in his leadership position.
Deromemaj, a former local leader of the Democratic Party in Vlora, was appointed head of the cadastre after a process that was accompanied by political debate, due to the rapprochement of some former Democrats with the government of Edi Rama. His appointment was read by part of the opposition as part of this phenomenon, causing internal clashes and criticism for "political collaboration".
His resignation once again adds to the rapid movements in the management of the Vlora cadastre, an institution that for years has remained at the center of criticism and accusations of blocked procedures, property conflicts, and political tensions.
So far, there has been no official comment from Deromemaj himself or the State Cadastre Agency on the reasons for his departure and who will replace him in office. The institution is expected to be temporarily led by a deputy director, until a new name is appointed.
