The Head of the Special Structure Against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK), Altin Dumani, in an interview with RTSH, addressed SPAK's operational challenges, noting the significant decline in referrals from the State Police.
Dumani stressed that SPAK cooperates daily with the State Police, which conducts part of the investigations, while the rest is covered by the National Bureau of Investigation (BKH). However, he raised a concern related to the decline in referrals.
" I have observed a reality that has to do with the decrease in the number of referrals from the State Police by 40%, and this is also reflected in the annual report submitted to the Assembly, " he said.
The head of SPAK acknowledged that the cooperation has its positive sides, but added that there is still room for criticism, which he has made openly. He believes that the potential for cooperation is much greater, given the scope of the State Police.
"The State Police is an institution that has at least over 10 thousand employees who are in the field, in contact with citizens and could increase the number of reports to the Special Prosecution Office, " emphasized Dumani.
