The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, described Prime Minister Edi Rama's post regarding the Constitutional Court's decision to suspend Belinda Balluku as a threat to SPAK and GJKKO.
In a statement to the media, Berisha said that the lack of urgency in dealing with the issue of immunity and the room for changes in legislation show that Rama intends to protect Balluk until the end.
"Today Rama threatened the prosecution and the court and vowed to defend himself and Balluk to the last detail. He was summoned to Brussels today, according to the media. You see, he goes to Brussels wearing Lubi Balluk's dress. In the sense that he goes as her shameful lawyer and he has everything from her. In Brussels and all the capitals, it has been understood what Rama represents, what rottenness he represents," Berisha said.
Although the leading democrat criticizes the prime minister for attacks on the courts, in this respect the parties do not differ much from each other. Especially Berisha, who does not spare criticism of the courts and prosecutors' offices whenever the decisions do not align with his interests, as he did today by opposing the decision of the Constitutional Court judges on Balluk.
According to him, the judges who voted 4 to 4 made the decision under the dictate of Edi Rama.
"That 4-by-4 decision could not have happened. Despite the fact that the suspension remained in force, it should not have remained with the votes of the four judges, but with the votes of all. This is yet another proof of the paralysis of the Constitutional Court by the executive", said Berisha.
However, the DP leader did not dare to mention the names of the judges who, according to him, are under Rama's dictate.
The same approach was observed regarding businessmen clashing with residents of Rrjoll in Velipojë, who claim their properties are being looted. Berisha said that the reason why the DP has not gone to support them in their protest is related to the need to verify whether the claims are based on official documentation.
"Undoubtedly, when the problems are based on accurate and official documents, I do not discuss them. Apriori does not refute any of the protesters' claims, which is why we are following the case. But everything must be based on documents," he said.
Sali Berisha was also asked about the increase in the price of the urban ticket for the Kamza line, which was also approved with the votes of the Democratic Party. Although almost three months have passed, Berisha stated that he has not yet been informed about this case. According to him, only after getting acquainted with the details, he will see what can be done.
