A Democrat who participated in Sali Berisha's speech in Kamza raised concerns about the increase in the price of urban transport tickets. He emphasized that several Democratic councilors, who voted in favor of the ticket price increase, were also part of the decision to increase the price.
During his speech, the citizen emphasized the contrast within the Democratic Party, saying that citizens engage politically without financial support, while democratic representatives in the municipality make decisions that go against their interests.
"We are working without a salary, without money, we also pay for the city tickets, although they have raised the ticket price here. Even Dr. Petriti said well, how the ticket was raised, it is not even a question. Everything ended there. Now it was approved by a member of the municipal council, also a Democrat. What else can I say," said the citizen during the speech.
We recall that in November last year, the Municipal Council approved the increase in the price of tickets and passes for the Kamëz–Tirana, Paskuqan–Tirana and several other lines within the territory of the municipality, where the direct beneficiary was the company “SHPRESA – AL”. After several verifications, VNA published documents showing that the persons who had requested, supported and voted for the price increase were the same ones who held management positions in the beneficiary company.
Democratic councilors also participated in the vote to increase the ticket, including Shkëlqim Kosiqi, deputy chairman of the Municipal Council, Enver Buçi, and Preng Marku, making the opposition part of a decision-making process that, according to critics, violated the interests of the citizens it represents.
