After the 4-4 split of votes in the Constitutional Court, which upheld the decision of the Constitutional Court to suspend Belinda Balluku from office, the Secretary General of the Democratic Party, Gazment Bardhi, reacted.
In his reaction, Bardhi states that the prime minister's efforts to exert pressure on justice and build a political alibi have failed.
"The alibis have already fallen! Edi Rama exerted unprecedented pressure on the Constitutional Court and set up absurd alibis to protect himself and Belinda Balluku. Both failed!"
According to Bardhi, the Constitutional Court's decision refutes the Prime Minister's claims of obstructing justice and shows that no one can be above the law. The DP Secretary General emphasizes that the matter is now in the hands of the Parliament, which must act without delay regarding SPAK's request for the arrest of the former Deputy Prime Minister.
"Now, Edi Rama has nowhere to hide. SPAK's request for the arrest of Belinda Balluku awaits approval from the Parliament."
Bardhi calls on the Speaker of the Assembly to act immediately and not hold the justice process hostage, warning that any delay would constitute a serious institutional responsibility for the Assembly.
