In a marathon session that lasted more than 10 hours, the eight judges of the Constitutional Court failed to reach a decision on Prime Minister Edi Rama's appeal regarding the suspension of Belinda Balluku from office.
The vote was divided into four votes in favor and four against, making it impossible to secure the necessary majority of 5 votes. Consequently, the decision of the GJKKO to suspend Balluk from office remains in force.
The names of the judges who voted against and in favor of Rama's request have also been announced.
Against Rama's request:
Ilir Toska
Asim Vokshi
Marsida Xhaferrllari
Gent Ibrahimi
In favor of Rama's request:
Fiona Papajorgji
Sonila Bejtja
Sandër Beci
Marjana Semini
In the absence of a majority decision, the legal situation remains unchanged and Balluk's suspension from office continues to be in effect.
