The leader of the Mundësia Party, Agron Shehaj, has ruled out any possibility of cooperation with the Democratic Party and Sali Berisha, accusing the leaders of the DP of vote manipulation in the race for the presidency of this political force.
In a status published on social networks, Shehaj also refers to the statements of Democratic MP Edi Paloka, who previously admitted that votes were manipulated in the blue headquarters to favor Lulzim Basha in the elections for president of the DP, against the candidacy of Agron Shehaj.
Shehaj states that, despite his contribution over the years to the Democratic Party, attempts at change have been deliberately hindered by the party's leadership structures.
"I worked and fought for the Democratic Party unconditionally. When everyone was silent, I ran for president of the DP against Lulzim Basha to lead the DP in a Western way. They went so far as to manipulate the democrats' votes to stop change (they themselves have claimed it)," Shehaj writes.
Further, he emphasizes that the Opportunity Party and its supporters will no longer be part of any collaboration with current DP figures.
"I, the Opportunity Party and our voters no longer support these figures. Let the insults, slander and manipulations continue! There is no turning back! We must look to the future!", concludes Shehaj.
Meanwhile, analyst Ermal Hasimja, along with several other public figures, have taken an initiative to unite opposition parties in the face of the majority. However, this initiative has been rejected by Agron Shehaj, who has made it clear that he will not be part of any cooperation with the current structures of the Democratic Party.
