The 40-year-old Albanian, Pandeli Nakoleci, who killed his 36-year-old wife in front of their four children, appeared on Sunday morning, August 24, before the prosecutor in Volos.
Upon arriving at the courthouse, he refused to answer questions from reporters, keeping his head down. According to witnesses and police sources, during his arrest he declared: "I did good to her, she deserved it. I don't regret anything," claiming that the reason for the act was adultery.
After the crime, the suspect hid for more than 24 hours in an area of tall grass, about 200 meters from his home. He had changed his clothes and did not have his phone or the murder weapon with him - a knife that has not yet been found.
His arrest was made possible thanks to a report from a neighbor who saw a suspicious person in the area. Despite the serious incident, police sources indicate that there was no previous history of domestic violence, although the perpetrator had had previous contacts with law enforcement.
The victim's body has been sent to the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Thessaloniki, where an autopsy is expected to be performed on August 25, 2025.
