Immediately after his arrest, Greek media have published shocking footage from the moment of the arrest of Pandeli Nakolec, the 40-year-old Albanian who shocked public opinion with a macabre act in Volos, Greece. He is accused of the brutal murder of his 36-year-old wife, an event that occurred in front of their four minor children.
According to reports from protothema.gr, Nakolec's arrest took place on Saturday afternoon (August 23), while he was hiding just 200 meters from the crime scene. Greek police managed to locate him on Evripidou Street, in the city center, where he had taken refuge in a field and was wearing clothes found in a trash can to avoid identification. He did not have a mobile phone or any other object with him that could help in tracking him.
The released footage shows the moment when police officers intervene and stop the 40-year-old, who, according to Greek media sources, appeared calm and without any sign of remorse. In his first words after the arrest, he said:
"My wife was cheating on me, what should I do?" - a statement that has further angered the Greek and Albanian public.
The incident occurred on August 22, when the perpetrator stabbed his wife to death with a cutting tool in their apartment, in the presence of their children, who experienced severe psychological trauma. After the crime, Nakolec fled and was wanted for more than 24 hours, until he was caught by the police.
