The Tirana Prosecution Office has received today a referral from Police Station No. 1 in Tirana, regarding the "disappearance" without a trace of the former Director General of the National Agency for the Information Society, following the denunciation made by his mother.
Because Daniel Shima returned to his family after 10 hours of mysterious disappearance and in the circumstances where he had sent his lawyer, and also his partner, a message with the text "they are threatening me," the police have referred the incident for evaluation by the prosecution.
Daniel Shima, the man of Albanian secrets, insists that he left of his own accord after a fight with his partner, so under these circumstances the prosecution seems to be in no hurry. But it has decided to draw lots for this case in September when prosecutors return to work after the annual vacation.
In fact, the prosecution should be urgently put into action to investigate the case, because whether it was a voluntary departure or abduction and holding hostage for several hours, the incident with the main character Daniel Shimë should raise the entire state to its feet. Because, he is the man of the country's cyber secrets, the man who knows every detail about the millions of AKSH tenders and many other details. But despite this, the prosecution seems to remember this file after it has rested from the holidays, while the suspicions about the incident are increasing.
Shima does not give any explanation as to why he wrote the message “I am being arrested” to his partner. He talks about arguments with his partner, but the latter denied having had arguments with him, while emphasizing that before losing contact with Daniel for 10 hours, she had asked him to go and pick her up.
So far, the police know for sure that Daniel Shima traveled in his car, from the Studenti city to the exit of the Elbasan tunnel, a journey of no more than 30 minutes. While for the other 9 hours and 30 minutes, there is still no information about what route he chose to go south, as he claims. Did he stop for a coffee? Did he stop at a beach? Did he meet anyone on the way? If so, what did he talk about? And the way back from where he was? Again from Elbasan or via the Tirana-Durres highway? Who did he travel with the day before to Borsh? Were the people accompanying him questioned?
All these, but also other questions, must be answered by the investigation. Daniel Shima is also a witness of SPAK, perhaps tomorrow's defendant for tender abuses. A witness who, if he decides to confess, could be the perfect penitent to bring down the pyramid of corruption at AKSHI.
Shima is also a name that was exposed by former Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj since his escape when he said that he was "threatened to keep quiet." Ahmetaj spoke about tenders worth millions of euros, which, according to him, also involved family members of the prime minister.
Therefore, based on these and many other details, the truth about Daniel Shimë's 10-hour "disappearance" must be revealed at all costs.
