The tragic event that occurred in Volos has shocked public opinion, while Greek media have published new details regarding the crime within the family, where an Albanian citizen stabbed his wife, also Albanian, to death.
According to reports, the couple's eldest daughter called emergency services for help after her father had attacked her mother with a knife in their apartment on Konstanta Street. Police found the woman dead in the building's entrance, with multiple wounds to her neck and ribs.
The couple's three children were also at the scene: two daughters, ages 16 and 6, and a son, age 13. The family also has another daughter, age 18. The children testified that the parents had argued violently during the morning, while the 36-year-old victim had attempted to leave the apartment when she was attacked with a knife by her husband.
The perpetrator, who is still being sought by the police, appears to have had numerous criminal records and mental health problems. In June 2025, he was admitted to the Volos psychiatric hospital on medical orders after a suicide attempt. He had previously been arrested several times for various criminal offenses, including drug trafficking, false testimony, forgery and illegal entry into Greece.
The incident has caused strong reactions in the local community, while Greek authorities continue their search to capture the perpetrator.
