The Maliq-Lozhan-Strelcë road axis has shown new infrastructural problems, after for more than ten days it was used as an alternative route by drivers traveling towards Gramsh, due to the blockage of the Librazhd-Prrenjas segment.
The significant increase in traffic during this period appears to have worsened the condition of the road. In some segments, landslides, damage to protective barriers, as well as deep cracks in the asphalt and deformations of the road surface have been observed.
Although the flow of vehicles has decreased significantly after the reopening of the main axis, the problems created remain present. Up to now, no concrete interventions have been reported to repair the damage, while experts assess that immediate intervention is needed to avoid further degradation of the infrastructure.
The Maliq–Lozhan–Strelcë road was built by the Gjikuria company, while the investment for its construction has reached around 1.4 billion lek. The recurring problems on this axis have constantly raised questions regarding the quality of the work carried out.
