The Serious Crimes Prosecution is continuing its investigation into the disappearance of expensive bottles of wine that were found in a cellar of a resort owned by Ergys Agas. Sources at SPAK indicate that the file has been submitted for jurisdiction by prosecutor Bledar Valikaj, who has linked the wine product to Agas' criminal activity.
The wine was seized during searches of his properties, after Agasi and Ermal Beqiri were declared internationally wanted as members of a group that, according to investigations, forced businessmen to withdraw from tenders of the National Agency for the Information Society (AKSHI).
After the seizure, the wine was left in the custody of Agas' cousin, but when customs authorities went to collect it for storage, they found that the bottles had disappeared. Agas' cousin is currently being investigated for obstructing the investigation, as he has not clarified the destination of the wine.
According to the expert, the value of the wine amounts to around 1.4 million euros, but could double if it were sold on the market in bottles.
Meanwhile, SPAK is continuing its investigations into suspicions that Agasi and Beqiri ordered the kidnapping of businessman Gerond Meçe, forcing him to withdraw complaints about AKSHI tenders.
At the moment, former director of AKSHI, Mirlinda Karçanaj, and former deputy director Hava Delibashi are under house arrest, while lighter measures have been imposed on several businessmen and a police officer.
