IKMT has continued its demolition campaign in the Valbona area. Residents whose buildings were demolished by IKM in the Valbona Valley have burst into tears, calling the decision unfair.
Two elderly people stated that this was the first year they were using them for business.
"The current apartment we have is damp, we have nothing to do with it. These buildings were built by 3 immigrant sons who work and live in the US, England and Italy," says the elderly woman, while her husband says in front of the camera that what is happening to them cannot happen to an Albanian.
They also stated that they had received the OK from state institutions when they were under construction. According to them, three police officers showed up and only asked them if they had a conflict with anyone and wished them well with their work.
"There were three police officers and one policewoman. They came and asked us what we were doing, I told them what I'm telling you, and the policewoman said, 'You're welcome.' And the policewoman said, 'Are you in trouble with anyone?' I said, 'No.' She said, 'You're welcome.'"
So the state itself told you to build?
"By the Quran, if the police told us not to do it, I wouldn't do it," the two elderly men say.
The two owners also say that their construction was done this year before the elections and call the demolition of the buildings a betrayal of the party they have voted for for 30 years.
"This year, before the elections, we did it. For 30 years I have been voting for Edi Rama, because I was a communist of Enver Hoxha. And now my gun is a sin"
