Portuguese Ruben Saraiva risks a life sentence for the mafia-style execution of businessman Ardian Nikulaj in his pub in Shëngjin for revenge motives. The Lezha prosecution requested a life sentence for Saraiva on charges of "murder committed for interest or revenge and illegal possession of weapons." According to the prosecution, the investigation has proven that Saraiva played the role of the executioner in the incident.
Edmond Haxhia, a relative of the Lekstakaj family, is accused of organizing the murder. He is in prison in Great Britain awaiting extradition proceedings. Four British citizens, including a woman, served as informants, and are also facing extradition to our country. Ardian Nikulaj was executed in his bar in Shëngjin in April 2023, by a person disguised as a postman, a crime that shocked public opinion at the time.
