Durim Bami, considered Nikla's strongman, has been extradited from Dubai, and is expected to arrive in our country today at 7:00 PM.
Under strict security measures, he was placed in a high-security detention center in the country, while he will await his confrontation with Albanian justice. Bami was declared wanted by SPAK as part of the "Revanshi" operation, where he is suspected both as the perpetrator and as the victim of the criminal offense.
Months after being declared wanted, he was arrested in Dubai, where he was taking refuge, and after a long battle with the authorities there, where he claimed that if he returned to Albania his life would be in danger, as he had been the target of assassination attempts several times, he was deported from the United Arab Emirates.
The moment he was removed from the territory, Interpol agents brought Bami to Albania.
Durim Bami is among the 27 defendants for whom SPAK has completed investigations and submitted the criminal file against him for trial.
Among the accused is former SP MP Arben Ndoka, with whom Bami was in conflict after the murder of Aleksandër Ndoka, the former lawmaker's brother, or even Ervis Martinaj, the gambling boss who disappeared without a trace.
Durim Bami is accused by SPAK of creating the conditions for the murder of former MP Ndoka. "The defendant Durim Bami, in the role of creator, organizer and leader of a structured criminal group, in collaboration with the defendant Endrit Dokle, other defendants previously sent for trial in criminal proceedings no. 59/1, of 2022, as well as with other unidentified persons during January 2021, provided the conditions and material means to commit the murder of citizen Arben Ndoka," SPAK emphasizes.
The indictment further states that: "The defendant Durim Bami, in the role of creator, organizer and leader of a structured criminal group, in collaboration with the defendants Endrit Dokle and Marklen Haka (alias Marklen Aliu), as well as with other unidentified persons during February 2021, provided conditions and material means to commit the murder of citizens Tori Xhecuka (alias Hektor Xhecuka) and Erigers Mihasi."
The Niklë strongman is also accused of cultivating hashish in collaboration with former RENEA specialist Altin Morina. "The defendant Durim Bami organized, directed and financed a structured criminal group, intended for the cultivation of the narcotic plant cannabis sativa, in the village of Nikël, Fushë-Krujë during the period December 2019-July 2020, as well as in the area of the Bubq Administrative Unit of the Krujë Municipality, both before and during September 2020, taking care of the smooth running of this activity. He was assisted in his illegal actions by state police officers, such as the defendant Altin Morina and other still unidentified citizens, who provided information or helped to avoid checks on plots planted with narcotic plants," the Special Prosecution emphasizes.
Durim Bami was once targeted for assassination by criminal groups. One of these groups that aimed to physically eliminate Bami was led by former MP Arben Ndoka.
"Defendants Arben Ndoka and Arian Tuku, in the role of creators, organizers and leaders of a structured criminal group, in collaboration with other members of this group, defendants Ervis Martinaj, Samuel Ndoka, Jozi Kraja, Aldo Avdyli (alias Elidon Avdyli), Marklen Haka (alias Marklen Aliu), during 2020 provided conditions and material means to commit the murder of citizens Durim Bami and Valter Bami," the file states.
Even Ervis Martinaj, missing without a trace since 2022, financed Bami's execution in one case.
“A structured criminal group created, led and organized by the defendant Tori Xhecuka (alias Hektor Xhecuka), financed by the defendant Ervis Martinaj, which also included the defendants Florenc Kelmendi (alias Florenc Toçi) and Marklen Haka (alias Marklen Aliu), as well as other defendants previously sent for trial in criminal proceedings no. 59/2, of 2022, have been organized since June 2020 for the murder of citizen Durim Bami, due to the conflicts that Ervis Martinaj and Tori Xhecuka had with this citizen. On 4.11.2020, members of this structured criminal group attempted to kill citizens Durim Bami and Ervin Kodra with firearms without a permit at the place called Ura e Tapizës, Fushë-Krujë. They were traveling in a black Range Rover with Italian license plates, while the passenger was "his aunt's son, Ervin Kodra," it is further emphasized.
Durim Bami is a controversial figure in the underworld. He is one of the last people to meet Enver Stafuka before the latter was kidnapped and disappeared.
On March 3, 2015, he was arrested by the Police after Tom Doshi's accusations that former Speaker of Parliament Ilir Meta had ordered Bami to kill him in exchange for a payment of 500 thousand euros. Bami was caught trying to flee to Montenegro. Three years later, in July 2018, he was released from prison.

“Providing conditions and material means to commit murder”, to the detriment of citizen Arben Ndoka, committed in special cooperation with a structured criminal group;
“Providing conditions and material means to commit murder”, to the detriment of citizens Tori Xhecuka and Erigers Mihasi, committed in special cooperation with a structured criminal group, provided for in Articles 80 and 28/4 of the Criminal Code;
“Structured criminal group”, in the form of creation, management or organization, in relation to criminal offenses against life;
“Commitment of criminal offenses by a criminal organization and a structured criminal group”;
“Cultivation of narcotic plants”, committed in the form of organization, management or financing of this activity, as well as in a special form of cooperation with a structured criminal group;
“Structured criminal group”, in the form of creation, management or organization, in relation to the cultivation of narcotic plants;
“Commitment of criminal offenses by a criminal organization and a structured criminal group”.
