The trial of the mayor of Vau i Dejës, Kristian Shkreli, who is accused of electoral corruption, is underway in the Special Court.
During the session, the testimony of SPAK witnesses was heard, through whom the Special Prosecution intends to prove the accusations against the mayor.
Kristian Shkreli is accused of buying votes in favor of Tom Doshi's PSD and for this reason, before the elections, was attacked by Prime Minister Edi Rama, who accused him of playing with two goals.
Testimony of Alfred Martin
Martini: We all went as residents of the village of Stajkë, we complained to Kristian Shkreli, that we had no electricity. We met at his bar in Kryebushat. We called him. There were 5 of us and we wanted to meet him, with our uncles and their friends. At that meeting, he promised us about the lights and the road. We went to Shkreli, because he was the mayor.
I did not receive any guidance from Kristian Shkreli for the May 11 elections.
Prosecutor Dritan Preçi reads at the hearing a wiretap between the witness and Shkreli, dated April 18, 2025, where Shkreli tells him: "You have the lights on," and then says "except for Toma." "Don't break his head," the witness replies.
Martini: This conversation was a sign of respect. With "Tom" in that conversation we referred to Tom Doshi.
Prosecutor Dritan Preçi: In another conversation dated May 6, 2025 between the witness and another person, about his friends, where the witness said: "Kristian called us. Toma is coming tomorrow, to Angelo's in Stajka, at 6 pm. He called all of us as residents. It's good to be there, because we need it for the road and for things. Tell Jaku to come too. Those we have are there, it's good to be there tomorrow."
Martini: We were there for a rally in Stajka. We were there as a sign of respect.
Martini: I didn't communicate, but my brother communicated that they complained about the lights. And so did my uncle and several other people. The problem has been solved. The residents complained to the mayor and then the lights were fixed. I used my brother's phone, I spoke to Kristian. I asked my brother to go and fix the lights, because it was a shame, the lights were like candles, then the lights came on just fine.
Lawyer: Has the defendant Kristian Shkreli asked you to vote for any political entity?
Martini: No, he didn't ask me for anything, we complained once, we know it's the mayor's honor.
Testimony of Col. Koleci
Koleci: We had 22 years without electricity, we were washed with kusia. We complained to this gentleman and he solved our problem. Kristiani brought us electricity, he brought us the road to the car. At that meeting, I remember they told me to go to a meeting with Tom Doshi. I did not talk to the mayor or anyone in the world. I had to come to you alone, we have a lot of trust in SPAK. Kristiani is a hardworking guy. I voted on May 11, I was not guided to vote by anyone.
Testimony of Filip Bardheli
Bardheli: I live in the village of Stajkë. We know that they have fixed our lights. It was before the elections. It was the last elections. We went, we complained to the mayor about the lights and the road. That for 20 years the poles have been made of wood. We went, all the people who were in a neighborhood, we asked for lights and the road. He didn't promise us, but he said he would try. Kristiani didn't direct me to vote anywhere.
