Journalist Klodiana Lala, on the show "The Unexposed" on MCN TV, provided details about Berisha's testimony yesterday at SPAK regarding the events of January 21, 2011.
Lala stated that during his testimony as a person with knowledge, the former prime minister must clarify who gave the order to shoot and who deleted the evidence.
"Mr. Berisha has been questioned for the first time in almost 15 years. It is a positive step in my view for him, at least to have a clear picture of what happened on January 21. I hope that the investigations will shed light on this part, because there are two murders that are unsolved.
Mr. Berisha gave his testimony as a person in the know. He was interested in two points. First, whether there was an order to the Republican Guard to shoot at the protesters, and second, it had to do with the attempt to destroy all evidence that could link Guard officials or high-ranking public officials to the January 21 murders, namely the four protesters, Faik Myrtaj, Ziver Veizi, Aleks Nika and Hekuran Deda.
Mr. Berisha did not accept that he considered the window of the Prime Minister's Office, that is, the basement of the Prime Minister's Office, as a guard post for the Republican Guard.
However, the bullets are officially confirmed to have come from the prime minister's office building towards the protesters, and this was the question I asked Mr. Berisha.
However, he denied having given the order and said that there was no order for January 21, but the Republican Guard acted according to the law, which according to Mr. Berisha was approved by the socialists, however, I think that there are some moments that remain to be clarified.
I asked him about Ndrea Prendi's black eye, that there was a clash inside the prime minister's building, which needs to be clarified.
The second moment is the radio communications, which were submitted to SPAK and, according to the latest information, were sent to a laboratory abroad to see what the codes were, who communicated with whom, and what order was given in this specific case.
Mr. Berisha said SPAK asked me a question based on a book written by Bamir Topi, president of the Republic at the time the event occurred.
And Bamir Topi said he claims that Lulzim Basha went in my name and talked to me about intervening in the justice institutions to ease the position of the class officials.
Lulzim Basha did not go, he said. But, said Mr. Berisha, I had no reason to order Lulzim Basha.
But I don't know if Luzim Basha left or not, so in a way Mr. Berisha succeeded him in this aspect and if there was any intervention.
At that time, for the Minister of Interior to ease security measures or release guards, it is pure abuse of office and in this respect it is.
So, Mr. Berisha tried to avoid it, but there are two main moments.
"One, who gave the order to shoot, who changed the parts of the weapons that are thought to have been fired at the crowd," said Lala./TPZ
