The Ombudsman inspected the premises of the Pojska prison, where a 34-year-old woman is being held together with her 7-month-old baby, after she was arrested at Rinas Airport in implementation of a final decision for domestic violence.
He said that the institution has started verifications immediately after being informed of the case and suspects procedural violations, emphasizing that keeping a mother with a breastfeeding baby for 72 hours in the Security Block was unnecessary. According to him, the conditions where the mother and baby are staying have also been inspected, while the responsible institutions have been notified and a request has been sent to the court.
The Ombudsman stated that the 34-year-old woman should be released tomorrow, while warning that if this does not happen, there will be a violation of legal procedures.
