After the meeting of the Intersectoral Technical Group, it was decided that the three children and their mother, Blerina Basha, will be immediately assisted with medical and social assistance.
The assistance will initially begin with the provision of all necessary medications for the treatment of the infectious disease of scabies. They will remain in the hospital until they fully recover from this contagious disease, while social supervision in the apartment will then continue. Along with their treatment, the family's apartment will be cleaned and disinfected.
At the GTN meeting, attended by representatives of Social Services, Police, Health and non-profit organizations, a coordinated intervention plan for strengthening and reintegration of the family was agreed upon.
Three children have been provided with clothing and are expected to receive all the necessary medications for the treatment of the disease. The funding of medical and social interventions will be carried out by the organizations Nisma ARSIS and World Vision.
Meanwhile, the process of passportization and relocation of the family registration in Durrës, which is currently registered in Vau i Dejës, will begin. The new registration as residents of the city will enable them to be included in the municipality's social housing schemes.
For the mother of the children, the possibility of a regular 8-hour job will be assessed through the Labor Office, so that she can take care of and raise the children, as she currently works up to 16 hours. She will also receive psychosocial support.
The Social Service will conduct daily checks and supervision of the progress of the family situation. The mother will be on probation to assess her ability to care for the child, with the ultimate goal of keeping the family together and ensuring the best interests of the children.
