Durrës Police have launched a criminal investigation against a 33-year-old woman, suspected of mistreatment and abandonment of her three minor children, who were found in a deplorable condition.
According to the Durrës Local Police Directorate, the Crime Investigation specialists of the Plazh Police Station referred the materials to the Prosecutor's Office and initiated criminal proceedings against citizen BB, 33 years old, for the criminal offense of "Ill-treatment of minors".
The investigation began after around 17:20, citizen DV reported to the police and stated that her son's ex-daughter-in-law had left her three minor children alone in the building where she lived, a case that was also published on social networks.
The Police Services, in cooperation with the Child Protection Office, intervened immediately and took the minors into protection. They were initially taken to the hospital for medical examinations and then placed in the care of the Child Protection Center in Durrës.
The procedural materials have been referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Durrës, for further legal action.
