A serious incident has occurred in the Dukat-Llogara area, near Gropave i Pirit, where 22 horses were shot with double-barreled firearms. Some of them have sustained injuries in various parts of their bodies, while three horses are receiving medical treatment. Owner Foni Konomi expresses shock at this act, stressing that it is unthinkable to shoot such a weak animal. The police have been activated and are investigating the incident, while it is suspected that the perpetrators may be illegal hunters who acted at night.
Local sources link the incident to competitive conflicts between owners who operate horse-drawn tourist guides in the area. Some of the horses shot were free in the Llogara forests for tourists to see, while others are used for tourist walks. Police are continuing their search to identify and capture the perpetrators.
