Democratic Party of Albania MP Saimir Korreshi publicly denounced the state of the Lushnja hospital four days ago, raising concerns about the conditions in which citizens receive medical services.
According to him, the emergency building does not meet minimum safety standards for either patients or medical staff, while published images show dilapidated and problematic facilities.
The reaction came from the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, but not through an on-site inspection or a public appearance by the minister. The institution chose to clarify the situation through a post on Facebook, arguing that the footage used by Korreshi belonged to building no. 3, currently out of use and awaiting reconstruction.

The ministry's statement said that the wards have been transferred to functional premises and that the situation in basements or outdoor spaces is temporary, adding that the tendering process for the reconstruction has been completed and the construction permit is awaited.
However, the Democratic MP again challenged the ministry, inviting the minister and the Socialist MPs of the area to personally go to the hospital to see the real situation up close. So far, there has been no public visit to the Lushnja hospital by the Minister of Health to verify the situation on the ground.
Meanwhile, there has been no official reaction from the Lushnja hospital itself to the accusations raised by the opposition.
This episode has once again brought back the debate on how institutions react to public denunciations: with posts on social networks or with a physical presence in institutions where citizens seek service every day.
