A message distributed among the Democratic Party membership in Berat described Ervin Salianji as "self-excluded" and accused him of collaborating with segments of organized crime.
The message, which does not constitute an official position of the party but an internal communication addressed to members of the local branch, calls on the Democrats to distance themselves from the activity that Salianji is expected to hold tomorrow, describing it as a meeting with a "private agenda" and in the service of Edi Rama's government.
"Dear member of the DP Berat... Ervin Salianji, self-excluded from the DP, is trying with the help of segments of power and segments of local organized crime to organize a meeting with a completely private agenda," reads the message distributed to membership groups.
The irony of the situation lies in the fact that, without a formal public decision, in an internal political message Ervin Salianji is practically "declared" an accomplice to crime, while members are asked to boycott his activity.
A similar formula has been used in previous cases in other branches of the DP, where messages distributed to the membership have requested distancing from meetings organized by Ervin Salianji.
