The low turnout in the protests in front of the Prime Minister's Office and the meetings of a group of Democrats within the DP, labeled "coffee", who have announced a large meeting in Durrës tomorrow, seem to have forced the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, to begin the tour of "Poltar" number 2 throughout Albania. Berisha started this afternoon with the Democrats in Unit number 9 in Tirana, from where he said that the DP will begin the debate and analysis after the defeat on May 11.
"We are starting a debate today, we are starting an analysis today with which we will bring out a much stronger and more powerful Democratic Party, yes. And in this analysis, each of you is invited to give your opinions, to criticize anyone, to make proposals whatever you think," said Berisha, more than 6 months after the end of the May 11 elections.
In his speech, the Democratic Party leader asked that there be no witch hunt against the dissatisfied within the party. Although it only took a cup of coffee with some of the exponents within the DP for the party's leading figures to start criticizing and insulting them on social media.
"I have only two requests: no witch hunt, we do not become a witch hunt party under any circumstances. But we give responsibility with facts, with arguments to each one. Where we had our weaknesses, what we need to improve, what we need to change in our method. We are not afraid to make all the suggestions, all the proposals," said Berisha.
He also justified the delay in the analysis within the party after May 11, saying that it could be used by Rama to relativize the theft of the elections. Today's meeting is the first in the wake of what has been considered "Speech 2", while tomorrow in Durres the group that demands changes in the way the DP is run has announced a meeting with the party structures.
