The head of the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group, Taulant Balla, declared today that the majority will not present any candidate for the position of People's Advocate. According to him, the SP will await proposals from the opposition and then decide which name to support.
"We will review the candidacies that will come from the opposition. Then we will decide which candidacy we will support," Balla said.
He also referred to the decision of the Constitutional Court of Kosovo to suspend Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku. Balla emphasized that, according to the Prime Minister's and his personal interpretation, the court does not have the authority to suspend a minister.
"It is a decision by the Constitutional Court to suspend a minister. In the assessment of the Prime Minister, but also me, even after 21 years I think that the court does not have such competence, because the Constitution, according to Article 103 point 3, has equated the minister with the deputy in terms of immunity. However, fortunately, the constitutional order has clearly determined that when you have a complaint, you take it to the Constitutional Court," said Balla.
