Prime Minister Edi Rama has announced that he will meet in The Hague with former Kosovo President Hashim Thaçi, who has long been held in custody as part of the trial of former KLA leaders by the Special Chambers.
In a live broadcast on social media, Rama expressed strong criticism of international justice, stating that it has “left its mark” on the standards it is applying in this process. According to him, international justice is operating below every moral and legal red line, failing to reflect the reality of a liberation war for freedom and equality.
Rama emphasized that justice lies on the side of a people who fought for their freedom, as well as on the side of the families of the victims, women and girls raped during the war. He stated that the only thing the fighters did was defend freedom and demand to live as equals.
"Let us reflect on the low standards and the level far below the red lines of justice, when the only thing the fighters did was defend freedom. This is the truth and no one can shake this truth, let alone an absurd hammer of international justice that in this case has left a grain of salt," Rama said.
