The Minister of Defense, Pirro Vengu, started today by congratulating the 100th anniversary of the creation of the Albanian Naval Forces, although the official date marking their establishment is December 25th.
Although the holiday began 8 days ago, the minister has chosen to honor all those who have served over the years in protecting the country's maritime borders.
"Good morning and happy 100 years of the Albanian Naval Force.
Honor for a century of service and dedication in protecting the blue borders of the Homeland, human life and waving the proud Albanian flag in international waters!", Vengu writes in his message.
It is not known whether this premature congratulation is a blunder by the minister or simply a hasty enthusiasm, but for the sake of accuracy, we are also bringing the official dates, as they are posted on the Armed Forces' online website, where December 25 is designated as the official day of the creation of the Naval Forces.
