The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, seems to have drawn a red line with the member of the leadership, Ervin Salianji. In today's statement to the media, Berisha supported the accusations of Flamur Noka, saying that the former DP MP was helped by the criminal Suel Çela to hold the meeting with the Democrats in Elbasan.
The DP leader further said that with this action, Salianji has crossed every red line and the party will not accept this.
"Sali Berisha's red line is a separation from cooperation with crime. That a corrupt member of the Presidency and member of the National Council organized a meeting with Suel Çela, the most dangerous criminal of Elbasan, the head of one of the most powerful cartels in Europe, is absolutely unacceptable and can never be crossed. In this context, whoever undertakes such an action crosses the red line and is responsible for himself. We can never accept any form of cooperation with any of the drug cartels or criminal organizations. Regarding the meeting you mention, we have had not one but several pieces of information that claim that Suel Çela was the main organizer of this meeting. I applaud all the leadership structures of the Elbasan Democratic Party that boycotted such a meeting with disgust," Berisha said.
Although the Democrat leader should have based the accusations on facts, the statement warns of a harsher approach towards Ervin Salianja in the coming days, and it seems that it will bring another division among the Democrats.
