The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, made serious accusations today regarding recent developments, stating that Ergys Agasi has been leaving Albania for about three weeks and that his departure, according to Berisha, was made with the knowledge of one of three people: Vlora Hyseni, Prime Minister Edi Rama or the head of SPAK, Altin Dumani.
"I can't put my finger on which one of them," Berisha said, adding that these were Agas's closest and most confidant people.
According to the DP leader, Ergys Agasi played a key role in coordinating cooperation between figures in the criminal world. Berisha accused him of connecting and coordinating cooperation between Suel Çela, Elvis Doçi, Xhevdet Troplini and other criminal groups.
"You won't find stories like this in novels or movies," Berisha declared.
Following his statement, Berisha claimed that Ermal Beqiri, whom he described as "another head of the mafia", has also left Albania.
Berisha also spoke about hostage-taking cases, saying that Gerond Meçe was not the only businessman taken hostage. According to him, Daniel Shima was also held hostage for about three months.
The leader of the Democratic Party stated that Daniel Shima was initially a driver and was then appointed to increasingly higher positions, up to the position of deputy director of the National Agency for the Information Society.
"He went from being a driver to a chief driver, from a chief driver to the deputy director of AKSH. Imagine now," said Berisha, describing these developments as "one of the most indescribable" stories.
